Ox and Donkey for the Nativity Scene

The Ox and Donkey from the Original Bergland Nativity are two traditional figures of the Christmas Nativity scene. Placed beside the Holy Family and Baby Jesus, they help recreate the simple and peaceful atmosphere associated with Christ's birth in Bethlehem.

For centuries, the ox and donkey have been familiar figures in traditional representations of the Nativity. Their presence evokes the humility and simplicity of the stable and, in Christmas tradition, the warmth and protection surrounding the Christ Child.

The two animals enrich the scene naturally and help create a balanced composition around the Nativity. They are especially suited for placement close to the manger or beside the Holy Family.
