Shepherd Family with Lambs and a Kid Goat – Bergland Nativity

The Shepherd Family with Lambs and a Kid Goat is a charming wooden composition from the Bergland Nativity, depicting a moment of everyday pastoral life with shepherds surrounded by the animals that are part of their work and daily existence.

The group brings together a shepherd family, lambs and a young goat, creating a harmonious and meaningful scene. The animals emphasize the close relationship between people and nature, while the family evokes the values of affection, protection and togetherness.

Shepherds hold a particularly important place in the Nativity tradition. According to the Gospel, they were the first to receive the angels' announcement of the birth of Jesus. Their presence symbolizes the humility and simplicity with which the Christmas message was welcomed.

The lambs evoke the gentleness and peaceful character of pastoral life, while the kid goat adds another characteristic element of the rural world. Together, the people and animals create a natural and familiar scene that brings warmth and realism to the Nativity landscape.

The composition can be placed near the Nativity stable, along a pathway or in a pasture setting, alongside other shepherd figures, sheep and animals. It is particularly suitable for enriching the Christmas display with a scene expressing family warmth, harmony and everyday life.

The Shepherd Family with Lambs and a Kid Goat combines harmoniously with figures from the same Bergland Nativity series. Its wooden craftsmanship and choice of finishes reflect the traditional woodcarving heritage of Val Gardena - Dolomites, making this composition a meaningful and attractive addition to a Christmas Nativity scene.
